Banksy, his latest and greatest?

Some details about this are on the Daily Mail site. I think it’s fucking great, but then I’m bias and a fan so… Ironically Banksy set up 3 stories worth of scafolding in front of a CCTV camera.

A dirty, spontaneous approach, result of 4 live recordings, post edited and mashed them fairly randomly, so as the outcome retains a frenetic life of it’s own.
My aim was to have an angry, choppy, strobing rhythm, that induces a bit of discomfort. You could say it has a multi threaded, abstract narrative with subliminal undertones .
First Screening of this piece will be as part of The Narrative Lab. Friday 4th April 2008 @ The Tate Britain.

Video for 12″ release on Bine Music (www.binemusic.com) Germany 2007. Directed by Sophie Clements. Composed out of 4500 still photographs, no moving images were shot for this film. A mesmerizing journey through the day and night of Berlin in four minutes.
Self explanatory really.
Serein records present their 16th release. Serein are one of my favourite netlabels, and their sound is just lush, abstract, textured sound. And this release is no exception. They are offering this one as a purchasable CD as well as providing free download.

Red After Image is a delightfully strange album. From the offset it seems as though Daniel Maze has made it his duty to challenge any preconceptions we may have; be those preconceptions about electronic music in the broader scope, or merely what we’ve come to expect from net labels. Daniel has created something that is at once recognisable whilst also sounding remarkably fresh. There are surprises abound in this release that are sure to win the hearts of many listeners.
Whilst watching a podcast on Final Cut I came across this little gem of a widget. Works out how much space you need for when you want to capture video.
VideoSpace is a free widget for Mac OS X Tiger (or later) which calculates the disk space required for a given duration, codec, frame rate and audio setting. It works in both directions so you can calculate time to space or space to time as indicated by the direction of the arrow between the two input areas.
